| Obtain a copy of our "Pet Health Notebook". This book is published by our hospital to provide an overview of what we consider to be essential information for pet owners. We provide this manual free of charge to our clients. | ||
| Kitten Wellness Checklist |
|
|
|
1. Vaccinate with a series of boosters to give your kitten immunity against contagious diseases. 2. Sound nutrition is the foundation on which your kitten's health is built. Please feed the highest quality food available to you. 3. Protect your kitten against internal parasites. Follow CDC recommendations by worming as a kitten, then repeat yearly. Have a stool exam at least once a year, more often if parasites have been a problem. 4. Protect against external parasites as well. Apply Frontline Top Spot from early spring until November at 1-2 month intervals. 5. Provide your pet with the following items: q Food and water bowls q Litter box q Bed q Toys q Cat carrier q Collar and I.D. Tag q Brush q Nail clippers
6. Spend time while your kitten is young, getting him accustomed to different people and experiences: q Car rides q Cat carrier q Interaction with children and strangers q Handle his feet, ears, mouth daily q Grooming & brushing |

Third Visit (14-16 weeks): q General Physical q FVRCP booster q Feline Leukemia booster* q Rabies vaccine q Recheck fecal
Five to Seven Months q Spay/Neuter and declaw (if necessary) *Depending on your kitten's lifestyle and environment, the feline leukemia vaccine may or may not be necessary. |
