Kim is our Practice Manager. She began working at LVH in 1999 as a
Receptionist, but found herself undertaking other areas as well, such as
an assistant, boarding, website development and computer IT person. In 2003, she became our Practice Manager. She completed the Veterinary Management Institute Series at Purdue University in March of 2006 and is currently working towards her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager title. Her family includes her husband, Chris, their son, Austin, three Labrador Retrievers - Max (yellow), Dixie (chocolate) and Hunter (black), as well as two black cats, Binx & Phoenix. "I'm also trying really hard to get my husband to let me adopt a black & white male baby kitten - as my son says, its not fair that we have three humans, three dogs but only two cats!" Kim's interests include spending time with her family, spending time outdoors, working on her computer and watching movies. Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is helping to improve the overall experience for both the pets and their owners. |

Joyce is our Office Manager. She has been at LVH since 1981 (wow!). Her family includes her husband, Kevin, two daughters, Kara & Candy who are both local teachers and one son, Luke, who is in his 3rd year of college at New Mexico State University for Professional Golf Management and Business/Marketing. She also has three dogs - Sophie & Buddy, both Golden Retrievers, Parker the Pug and Paddy, her cat. Joyce's hobbies include going for walks, outdoor activities and spending time with her family and pets. Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is watching owners and their pet's relationships grow through the years. |

Stacy is one of our receptionists. She joined us in 2004 as an assistant
and soon made the move to the reception area. Prior to working at LVH,
she completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in teaching at SWMSU. Her family includes her husband, Slade, their Doberman, Hercules and her Arabian horse, Capper. Stacy enjoys reading, cooking, horseback riding and scrap booking in her spare time. Her favorite aspect of veterinary care is watching families bond with their new puppies/kittens. "It's rewarding to see the relationship between pets and their families grow. I also love getting to know the young animals myself. It's so fun to watch them learn about the world they live in and see them become a part of their new family". |

Jennie joined our team as a receptionist in the spring of 2006. Her family includes Henry, a Labrador mix who was adopted from HART - "the best dog ever! If you want a good dog, give one a second chance - they really appreciate it!"; Daisy, a Coonhound which is also a rescue; her new puppy Hugo the Great Dane; and her wonderful cats Luke, Stowie & Yetti (who tolerate the dogs as best they can!). During her free time, Jennie enjoys drawing, playing drums and camping. "I love seeing the bond between the pet and owner - they are such a big part of our lives and the love they give is so unconditional. I also really enjoy seeing so many different breeds, especially the BIG ones! Bring in your Great Dane or your Giant Schnauzer, I will be here to give them hugs!" |

Kathy joined LVH in June of 1998 as one of our Certified Veterinary
Technicians (CVT) and is now the Lead Technician. She attended the
University of Minnesota, Waseca to obtain her Veterinary Technician
degree. Her family includes her husband, Brian, their little girl Emily, who was born in 2005, two dogs - Casey, a Cocker Spaniel and Quincey, a mixed breed; 2 cats - Kia, a calico and Baby, a Siamese mix; and 2 horses - Dixie, a Quarter horse/Arabian and Sassy, a Arabian mare. Kathy enjoys horseback riding, crocheting, reading and spending time outside. "I enjoy all areas of working in a veterinary clinic. My favorite (if I had to pick!) would be dentistry. I enjoy seeing the difference before and after. |

Colleen is on of our technicians. She joined LVH in 1994 and followed
Dr. Richard Piepgras to Crosslake Veterinary Hospital, where she worked
until he sold the hospital. She then rejoined us in 2003. Colleen is
also a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). She earned her AAS Degree in Veterinary Technology at Willmar Technical College, when at the age of 28, she decided to go back to school and pursue her lifelong dream of a career in veterinary medicine. Her family includes her husband, Duane, two adult children, Gina and Ryan, and she is working on adopting two girls from Haiti. In her free time, Colleen enjoys camping, music and raising and training Border Collies. Colleen's favorite aspects of veterinary care are genetics, reproduction and dentistry. Gretchen originally joined our hospital in 1999 as Kennel Staff. After
graduating high school, she attended Ridgewater College, where she
obtained her degree in Veterinary Technology in 2004, when she joined
our team as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She also attended the
Purdue University's DOGS Course, which focuses on dog behavior. Her family includes her husband, Nick, her cat Milo, her black Lab Ranger, two Belgian horses Haus & Adam, and Scrat, her gecko. She enjoys many outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing. Gretchen's favorite aspects of veterinary medicine are behavior, surgery, orthopedic and training puppies. Gretchen is the tech you will talk to with any puppy questions or problems, and she also teaches our puppy class several times a year. |

Roxie joined us for her Veterinary Technician internship the summer of
2005, and began full-time at the internship's completion and her
graduation from Ridgewater College's Veterinary Technician program. She
is another one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians. Her family includes her husband, Skippy (Jamie) and her three cats Apple, Eddie and Izzy. In her free time, Roxie enjoys landscaping, gardening, photography, interior design and spending time outdoors. Roxie's favorite aspects of veterinary medicine are dentistry, labwork and working with all of the feline friends. |

Jenni is one of our assistants and has been with us since 1995! She is
also known as our "Shih-tzu Specialist" - as she absolutely adores the
breed and gives them A LOT of extra attention! Her family includes Nibbie, a Lhasa mix and Willie, a Shih-tzu. Jenni enjoys reading, socializing, outdoor summer activities and being with friends and family. Jenni's favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is getting to know and care for her favorite breed - the Shih-tzu! |

Darla is also one of our assistants and has been with us since 2001. She
started as a receptionist and then found her niche as an assistant.
Her family includes her husband, Nate and their daughter, Katrina (born May of 2006), as well as her two cats, Sasha and Verde. Since having Katrina, Darla works for LVH part-time, filling in when we need an extra hand! Darla's hobbies include beading, rollerblading, gardening and going to garage sales. "I love how much the days vary - there's always something different. The job provides opportunities to learn something new all the time." |

Andrea joined us for her Veterinary
Technician internship in October of 2007 and permanently joined our team
a full-time Veterinary Technician in December of 2007. She recently
graduated from Minnesota School of Business as a Veterinary Technician. Her family includes her fiancé Mike; her yellow Lab, Molly; Lynnard, her black and white long-haired cat and her Quarter horse, Durango. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys hunting, fishing, being outdoors and horseback riding. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family. |

Dianna is one of our groomers, who joined Lakeland Veterinary Hospital in 1989 after graduating
from the Twin Cities School of Pet Grooming.
Her pets include Logan and River, both Bearded Collies; her cats Luna & Domino; and Levi, a quarter horse. Dianna's interest include flower gardening, reading, training and showing the dogs in obedience and agility. "My job is so rewarding. I love that each day is different. Making each pet look their best and having such great customers!" |

Julie is also one of our groomers, who joined Lakeland Veterinary Hospital in 1990 after
graduating from the Twin Cities School of Pet Grooming.
Her family includes her husband, Al and two adult children, Jenni & Eric. She has one dog - Leo the Golden Retriever, and two cats - Blazer and Cheeto. Julie enjoys gardening, playing volleyball, riding her Harley with her husband Al, boating and snowmobiling in her free time. "I enjoy the challenge of grooming a pet to make it look its best. "Pet grooming" is such a general term of all that is involved with my job. I have the opportunity to evaluate so many aspects of the pet such as skin condition, ears, eyes, teeth, feet, attitude and more." |

Karen is our third groomer, who joined
Lakeland Veterinary Hospital in 1988 after graduating from the St.
Cloud School of Dog Grooming.
Her pets include her dog, Teddy - a Belgian Tervuren and her 7-year-old Bay Quarter horse, Sky. Karen loves to spend her free time outside, including riding her horse, going to horse shows, camping and boating. Karen also loves to spend time Teddy and training him. |

Jennifer began working for LVH as a receptionist in 2004 and became our
Kennel Manager in 2006. She has one dog, Autumn, a Husky mix adopted from HART. She enjoys watching movies, spending time with her pets, family and friends, horseback riding and reading. Jen enjoys caring for the pets while they are here boarding, trying to make the pets comfortable and happy during their stay. |

Kathy joined our staff in 2006 as one of our
Animal Care Attendants. She is responsible for taking care of your pet
if he/she is here boarding or hospitalized as well as keeping our
hospital clean! Her family includes her husband of 14 years, Wade and three children (Sierra, Logan & Skylar), as well as her dogs, Beau & Shadow; Spider the cat and two fish (Boogie & Sway). In her free time, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family (playing Barbie, GI Joe and swinging for hours at a time!). Her favorite aspect of veterinary care is "The bond you end up forming with them. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of care we end up feeling for these animals. It's like I have all these pets without the food bill!" |

Jen joined our
staff in 2006 as an Animal Care Attendant and is now our full-time
Kennel Assistant. Her family includes her husband, Jason and son, Derrick; her dogs Duke, a Basset Hound, Luke, a Collie mix, and Mannie, a Rottweiler; two cats Toby & Marilynn. Her hobbies include making candles, reading, fishing and watching movies. Jen enjoys working with animals and being able to take care of them. "Its like being a grandparent! You get the joy of spoiling them and then they get to go home to their owner!" |
