| Obtain a copy of our "Pet Health Notebook". This book is published by our hospital to provide an overview of what we consider to be essential information for pet owners. We provide this manual free of charge to our clients. | ||

| At your puppy's first examination, along with a Pet Health Notebook, we also include the Complete Dog Training DVD at no additional charge. This is a very useful tool in multiple areas of puppy (and adult) training such as crate training, house training, chewing, jumping, mouthing, manners and obedience. | ||
| Puppy Wellness Checklist |

1. Vaccinate with a series of boosters to give your puppy immunity against contagious diseases. 2. Sound nutrition is the foundation on which your puppy's health is built. Please feed the highest quality food available to you. 3. Protect your puppy against internal parasites. Follow CDC recommendations by worming as a puppy, then repeat yearly. Have a stool exam at least once a year, more often if parasites have been a problem. 4. Protect against external parasites as well. Apply Frontline Top Spot from early spring until November at 1-2 month intervals. 5. Provide your pet with the following items: q Food and water bowls q Bed q Portable kennel q Collar and leash q I.D. Tag q Brush q Nail clippers 6. Invest in obedience training to keep your pet a happy and problem-free member of your family. 7. Spend time while your puppy is young, getting him accustomed to different people and experiences: q Car rides q Socializing with other dogs q Interaction with children and strangers q Handle his feet, ears, mouth daily q Grooming & brushing q Leash walking |

First Visit (6-8 weeks) q General physical q Start DHPP vaccine (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, & Parvovirus) q Check fecal (stool sample) for intestinal parasites, and 3 doses of worming q Initiate heartworm preventative (June - November) q External parasite check & control with Frontline (monthly flea control initiated)
Second Visit (10 - 12 weeks) q DHPP booster q Lyme q Adjust heartworm preventative dose (June - November)
